Best Time Yet !!

Today was the super big race at Mt. Sac, a college down by Pomona I think. Zach was all discouraged this morning, thinking he wouldn't do well. But he did!! He had his best time yet this season, 25:11 I think is what he told me, and a big line of kids behind him. I think that is what he was most excited about. I guess this is the biggest race of the year. It is two days, with big jumbo trons and balloons in the air with cameras and all the stuff. So go Zach by next year he will have it all figured out.

Here a few pictures of Zach at his race yesterday. He ran a minute something better than last week so he got a personal best time. Tomorrow is another race so we'll see what he can do.

Zara decided to help Jeff and Bobby bend material. She went in and got her home depot apron and a pair of gloves. She was the best helper, and looked cute in pink helping the boys. They better watch out one day she will put them all under the table, she has a little stubborn streak. Imagine, a stubborn streak in this family.

JUST A LITTLE TRIUMPH !

Tonight at bed time instead of me reading a book Zara read the book!!! She read Dr.Seuss' Mr. Brown Can Moo Can You. I had to help with the bigger words but for the most part she read it on her own. This was her first book were she didn't get frustrated and give up. She is on her way to having a book addiction. Watch out Barnes and Noble.

BLACKJACK'S NEW HOME

 
 
 
When we arrived home from Zara's recital last night, we had a bit of a surprise. Blackjack had gotten out of his rubbermaid home and had been free to roam the house, for who knows how long. He was easy to catch, but today we were on a mission to find him a new home. After about an hour in PetSmart this is the house we decided on. Its not as big as the Taj Mah Dog but I think Blackjack is happy. He did a few laps around and then settled down. I know Zara is in heaven. She can now feed and touch him without having to take him out. Now I just have to hide the food so he doesn't explode from eating too much.

RECITAL DAY

Yesterday went perfectly. Zara was finally feeling better.She looked perfect, was completly excited to be oup on stage. She was sure she would forget her toe heel shuffles, but she didn't. They all did wonderful. It's amazing the talent such a little studio has. So now on to next year. Here are a couple of pictures with her flowers.

SHE'S BUBBA?!

 
Zara had dress rehearsal tonight. Here are some pictures of her on the big stage. She looks so tiny. Saturday is the big day and then she is on to year three. She has to move up to the next big girl class. She did good at rehearsal considering she puked her guts out last night and then this morning. So of course not school today or tomorrow. Oh and in case you don't know the story. The title is a quote from a man in some store I was shopping in. Zara was trailing behind so I said come on Bubba, while walking next to a man. She said OK mama and the man looked back at her and then at me with a look of shock or disgust and said "that's Bubba". Zara looked him straight in the eye and said Yep. He just looked at us shook his head and walked away. Zara and I laughed and continued shopping. I guess she is way cuter than you would think a bubba would be. But then again, I'm just the mom.

Zach's new goal

Zach's new goal is to make it to Varsity. I guess the runners with the lowest times make it to the Varsity team, now he is on a mission. They are off to Bishop in the morning, so we'll see how he does. We all know what he can do when he puts his mind to it. My little octagon and accomplish anything.

ZACH UPDATE

He is improving. Last week he finished 8th to last not last. Hurray for Zach. He also place 10th on the team. Not too bad. This week they are off to Bishop. Nothing like a 4 hour bus ride with a bus full of hormonal teenagers. Good luck to those chaperone's, glad it's not me. Check back for the his update, and Zara's recital pics this Sat.
