HORSE SHOW

We took Zara to her first horse show today. It was love at first site, as we all know she is obsessed with horses anyway. She sat in the seats for a while but that just wasn't close enough so she sat on the step and put her head on the wall of the arena. She sat like that for hours. We kept having to tell her to pull her head back in. She was very upset when we had to come home. I think she could have stayed there all night.

We took Zach too, but it was not love at first site for him. It was a little too slow and after a couple of hours he was ready to come home. However, he was very polite and even though he wont admit it I think he had a good time too.

Well that was our Saturday and it was free fun.

I DID IT !!!

For some reason I felt I had to make bread at least once in my life time. I chose to make it as my controbution for Thanksgiving dinner. I figured if it didn't work I could always go and buy some bread. My confusion came when I read my great grandma Roaches receipe. All of the ingredience were listed by the hand, not a cup and there were no directions on how to do anything. I guess back then everybody knew how to make bread and didn't need directions. The kids helped and Zara loved watching it rise and then punching it down. I was a little worried because it was a little sticky still after we kneaded it, but all went well and they look pretty. Now the problem is keeping everybody from eating them until tomorrow. I guess that is a good sign that they taste good. Happy Turkey day to all of you.

DAYAT THE ZOO

We finally made it to the zoo! Zara was so excited and made the announcement that she had been waiting her whole life to go to the zoo. We kept trying but it always rained when we were able to go. She had a great time and a lot of the animals had their babies with them. It was the perfect day and a holiday so everybody was their over 13,000 people by 2:00 in the afternoon, it was announced as the busiest day of the year. Thank goodness we didn't have to stand in any lines.

Super Science Saturday

Today was Super Science Saturday for Zach and his team. They competed in several events and won two 5th places and a 4th place. Zach and Trish won 5th in the Hurricane event which was a bunch of questions about different types of weather. The other 5th place was for the rocket launch. Zach built it in Tech lab out of two two liter soda bottles. The fourth place was won in the tower event, the team built a tower out of balsa wood and it had to hold a certain amount of sand. It was a great day and everybody came out a winner.

ZARA'S SEEDS

Mom gave Zara some hollyhock seeds to plant. She was so excited she could wait to take them home and plant yes her hollycock seeds. We cleared that up real fast. She took her seeds to hema and they planted them in these containers. She checks them daily and gets so excited when they have grown. Here she is watering and checking the soil for wetness. I just don't know how she is going to transplant them since they will soon be out growing the containers.

DAY AT THE PARK

Niko spent last weekend with us, by Sunday we all needed to leave the house so we went to the park. It was a perfect day we ate lunch, played football and turned cartwheels. Well at least the boys did. Zara didn't let them stop her for anything. She hiked the ball, ran for a touchdown and took a couple tackles. Who said girls couldn't play football.

Super Science Saturday

Zach will be competeing next Saturday with a team against several other schools. My district puts on a Super Science Saturday. The day is filled with all kinds of activities. Zach will be competeing in the bottle rocket that he built, something that has to do with a tower (the team built) and how much sand it will hold, a crime scene ( his partner and him have to solve the crime) somthing to do with powder and seeing how it will react when acids are added to it and something else. He has been attending practices for about a month now. Some go until 4:00 it makes for a long day at school but he doesn't seem to mind. Stay tuned and I will post pictures and let you know how his team did.

TRICK OR TREATING

This year we stay up by home to trick or treat. We went through the neighborhood by us and then over to a different neighborhood. The kids had a lot of fun. Zara was such a trooper with her costume she kept say Megan don't run I can't run. She mastered the steps and how to carry the horse. She didn't get tired until about 8:30 that was 2 hour of carrying the horse. Once we took the costume off she was off and running. I am sure that the muscles in her arms are a little sore today. There weren't many kids out but it was fun to walk and see people we knew.
