COULD BE, MAYBE, IN A SKIRT?

So Nic has a look a like twin in Acton. We saw him in the Acton 4th of July parade. I couldn't post it earlier because my computer was down. Be here he is playing the bagpipes. Niko ran down the road to take his picture so we could post it for Nic and Sophia to see. They say we all have a twin somewhere. Nic's just happens to be her in Acton, WEARING A SKIRT!!!!!

ONE WEEK COMPLETED

So we made it through the first week of school!! Hurray for the entire family. First let me say that everybody made it to school on time, before the bell rang. The mornings have been going smoothly and even homework. Homework is an interesting time however, I have to jump from one level to the next. From how to make a correct lower case 'a' to critical thinking question of how societies view of childhood obesity is affecting the video gaming companies, and how they are compensating for societies view. By the time we get done my Brain is tired. That's not even mentioning the day I had at work with my students. It was a long week but we all made it out in one piece.

Zach has decided to run with the cross country team and is LOVING IT!!!! He runs about 4-41/2 miles everyday after school and comes home excited. Next Friday is his first meet in Ventura. He has just jumped into high school with both feet and is doing fantastic. Next month he tries out for the soccer team and in the spring he wants to join the swim team. If I can keep up with him the next 4 years will fly by.

Zara is adjusting to having to go to school EVERYDAY! She is exhausted when she comes home, but is too busy for a nap. She just passes out after her bath. Today she didn't even make to a bath. She is learning that she cannot talk when the teacher is talking. The other day the entire class had to stay in for a few minutes of recess. To hear her tell the story is very funny, just because of her facial and body language. She hasn't figured out how to eat and chat during the very short time for lunch and usually brings home most of her lunch. Which she eats a Lois' at her leisure. She has homework every night which she does for the most part without argument.

I think we are off to a good start this year, hopefully it will continue throughout.

FRIST DAY!!!

So today was the first day back to school for Zach and Zara. Today was my first day of high school and kindergarten. I have to say dropping Zach off at high school was so much more emotional than dropping Zara off at kindergarten. Here are the pictures I took this morning. There are more pictures of Zach because I couldn't take any of him at school, that just would be cool. Zara's friend Ryann is in her class. She came home really tired and really emotional, however nothing that a snack and a little bit of noggin wont cure. She has such a big adjustment to get used to, school everyday. We still have about an hour before Zach gets home, cross our fingers that his day went as well.

Back to work

So I go back to work on Thursday. I can't believe that it has already been 8 weeks. I didn't even leave Acton but twice I think. I haven't even been able to post pictures of the kids, my computer is still down and I am using everybody elses. So here is a pictureless update.
I go back on thursday as you already know. Zach has been offically registered for high school and attends freshman orientation tomorrow. His first day back to school is on Monday. I can't believe it, only 4 years left and he will be all grown up. I think he is a little nervous but it will be good. We are going to pick up his friend Jose in the morning so I will take a picture and post as soon as i can.
Zara is still off for another month, but is really excited to be going to school. She has been spending as many Wed. as she can with her friend Ryann. They are so cute together. They make me wonder what exactly do five year olds talk about with such serious faces. She is getting ready for this years dance recital. The biggest news of all she can fully swim now UNDER WATER!!!! She just stared on Saturday I think but it has boosted her confidence so much and she is now all over the pool. Again there is a picture to come someday soon I hope.
I think that is all for this update. Keeping checking back and hopefully soon there will be some pictures.

EARTHSHAKE !!!!!

On Tuesday, mom, lois and the kids and I went to Santa Ana to the Bowers Museum to see the Terra Cotta Soliders from China. We were in the museum for about 40 minutes when all of a sudden the ground jolted up. Mom and I looked at each other and said earthquake when all of a sudden another shake happened. When we met up with lois and the kids Zara's eyes were huge. She didn't understand earthquake, so I remembered she had been watching Land before time, so I explained it as an earthshake. The museum was then closed down for inspection. We left and found a fabulous place to eat dinner and looked at the cutest old town. After lunch we went back to the museum and went through the exhibit. It was outstanding. I would reccommend anybody that lives here to see and all the others to watch to see if it comes to you. It is only here until Oct. 12

FOURTEEN YEARS AGO TODAY!!

I can't believe it has been 14 years since I experienced 27 hours of labor a terrible fever, and an emergency c-section. Fourteen years since I was high on moraphine and told Monique that Zach was 20lbs and the flowers on the wallpaper were dancing. Fourteen years since Lois and Wendy had me laughing so hard we were all crying, mom brought me real food, Jeff cleaned bathrooms that someone else messed up and most importantly fourteen years since my mischief was born. It has been a busy year for him, graduating from middle school, winning awards, moving up to the big boy stage now dad goes and buys his presents. This year he got a pellet gun so he can go out with the big boys and shot targets or yes bunnies. We don't tell Zara though she gets mad. So happy birthday to my little man.

FINALLY GRADUATION DAY !!!

The day of graduation came and everybody was up bright and early. I think this was one of the few days that I didn't have to fight either of them to get out of bed. By the time I got out of the shower Zara was standing in my room holding her dress because she couldn't unbutton it to put it on. Zach was already completely dress and in the family room. I had Zara to Lois' by 7:45 and Zach to the school by 8:30. His graduation was quick and to the point with a couple of speakers and singers, recognition of the many Presidential award recipients and finally the presentation of the diplomas. We had time for one or two pictures with some of his teachers and we zoomed to Zara's graduation.

As we sat down they were starting the music and the kids paraded to their seats. Each on had a line to say and they sang the many songs they had learned throughout the year. The teacher said goodbye with so much emotion, the kids ate snacks and had their friends sign their hats. Another perfect graduation.

Then we were zooming down the freeway to lunch, where to you ask? The only place that both kids can absolutely agree on. SUSHI!!!! They ate a fabulous lunch and we came home. Everybody changed Zara went to Megan's, Zach put all his electronics back in his room I took a nap and Jeff watched man shows without anybody complaining. It was a perfect day and I can say I am very happy that I will probably never have two graduations on the same day again.

Here a just a couple pictures from the day. I have many more but I am sure you don't want to see them all.
